Solution: Trouble activating Virgin Mobile's TNT Phone

if you are running into 06-07-5000 error activating TNT phone, try this:

1. go the virgin mobile's website and activate the phone. You will get the phone number (based on your address) and MSID number. you will need these.

2. Come back to the phone. Press ##virgin#, press Yes to confirm
3. Instead of "Activate the phone", choose edit. you will see some random number, erase that (using BACK button) and type your new phone number.
4. press OK, you will see another random number. Erase that and type your 10 digit MSID number (ignoring potential leading zeroes).
5. Hit OK and you are done.

They tell you (if you call them) that it might take up to 4 hours to activate, but mine activated instantenously. Good luck!

Thanks so much. It saved me at least 15 minutes on their horrible phone service w/ people who are very difficult to understand.

Thanks a million for this info! I just used it to program the Virgin Mobile Mantra so it works on phones other than the TNT. I sat on hold with for 30 minutes before I had to hang up. With your advice my phone was running in less than five minutes. Thanks again! I really appreciate this!

Cheers to you! I just received my Virgin Mobile "Arc", got the network problem code that ends with 5000. It was the middle of the night and after reading so many condemnations of Virgin's customer service, that trick saved me a night of dread. The menu structure just differed a little: On my Arc "edit" took me to "MSID" and another 3 letter one above it. I simply clicked into MSID with the # from online as you suggested, then went into the other menu item above guessing it was the phone number, and boom! It worked...So the menus may be different but paying careful attention to codes for various Virgin phones and their difference in menus, I think your edit trick totally rocks!!!

the best answer available on the net for this issue. Captured all minor details like deleting the existing number and not cosidering the leading 0s

If I could go to the Virgin Mobile web site and activate my phone there, I wouldn't need any of this information. Duh?

Thank you! I was trying to reactivate an older Kyocera and Virgin's own web site support wasn't fast or helpful. This did the trick in minutes. Thank you!

Solution is copy all the numbers from old phone into new phone (i mean MEID and MSID)
Those numbers can be found if you type ##virgin# (##847446#)
Problem in case of phone swap is to get freaking MSID, pull that from your old phone and you're good.
